Lander is the gateway to the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail and takes the adventurous all the way to Yellowstone. Enjoy the solitude, mountain vistas, blue skies and virgin powder.
Lander and Wind River Country are in the heart of trail country. Explore Willie's Handcart Monument, South Pass, Martin's Cove and the Morman Handcart Visitor's Center, Independence Rock , Rocky Ridge and 6th Crossing.
Lander is the ideal base camp for those wanting to rock climb. Sinks Canyon is just minutes away and is known for its' excellent sandstone, limestone and granite, all surrounded by beautiful sub alpine meadows. There are 1,000 rock climbs within an 80 mile radius of Lander.
There's plenty of world-class fishing for those of you wanting to cast a line. Hike or drive to to the local streams, rivers, lake and reservoirs and enjoy the mountain view under blue skies.
